Colors That Will Thrive in 2025

It’s that time of year again when leading companies and organizations in the world of design name the color trends that will be hot in the new year. Probably the best-known is the Pantone Color of the Year. Established in 1999 by the Pantone Color Institute, the announcement of Color of the Year has become a highly anticipated event for the design community. Capitalizing on the popularity of Pantone’s announcement, some major paint manufacturers have also announced the color they believe will set the tone for the new year. So, what are the colors of the year 2025? Read on to find out!

PANTONE

The Pantone Color Institute selected Mocha Mousse as the 2025 color of the year. An elegant earth tone, Mocha Mousse is “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness…with its suggestion of the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee.” It pairs beautifully with a wide range of colors or can be an elegant stand-alone color in any room of the home.

BENJAMIN MOORE

Benjamin Moore’s choice for color of the year is a warm, earth tone called Cinnamon Slate. The color is “a delicate mix of heathered plum and velvety brown.” It provides a distinctive look that pairs well with both modern and traditional styles.

SHERWIN WILLIAMS

Rather than choosing a single color of the year for 2025, Sherwin Williams has announced a Color Capsule of the Year that includes nine selections designed to coordinate or be used individually. The Color Capsule selections feature warm brown, taupe, and off-whites alongside dramatic chartreuse and deep gray. The combination of the warmth and vibrancy in the collection is sure to inspire designers in 2025.

DUTCH BOY PAINT

In a break from earth tones, Dutch Boy has chosen Mapped Blue as the 2025 Color of the Year. “A beautiful, medium-tone blue with slight yellow undertones, [Mapped Blue] adds modern charm to any space.” Mapped Blue inspires a sense of calm and pairs beautifully with a range of colors, from vibrant coral shades to deep navy blue.

BEHR PAINT

A bright spot among the Color of the Year selections is from Behr, who chose Rumor, a “luxurious ruby red [that adds] warmth and rich allure” as the Color of the \Year. Whether used for an accent wall or to color drench an entire space, Rumor provides a dramatic effect to any space.
