Inspiring Cabinetry Innovations You’ll Likely Encounter at KBIS 2019

We’re just days away from KBIS 2019 (and all its design energy) and we’re excited to show you what’s new at Hardware Resources booth N2763. We won’t be one of the companies introducing voice-recognition technology, at least not yet, but we will be showcasing products that give designers the tools they need to fulfill their clients’ vision—especially with kitchens and baths.

1. Stylish Storage Innovations

When it comes to cabinetry storage, today’s homeowners want three things: easier access to hard-to-reach areas, better-organized drawers; and even more functionality than before, according to the NKBA webinar, “Moving Forward: Trends in Cabinetry for 2019 & Beyond.” Combine those wishes with the teachings of Japanese organizational expert Marie Kondo, and you get a mandate for kitchens that spark joy with their well-organized cabinet interiors and clutter-free countertops.

That’s exactly why you need to know about Hardware Resources’ STORAGE with STYLE™ suite of organizers, which we’re happy to announce is a Best of KBIS finalist! Our four new cabinet organizers boast cohesive designs that create a coordinated, upscale look for cabinet interiors. Each one comes in a choice of two designer finishes—Polished Chrome or Black Nickel— that complement on-trend kitchen hardware and lighting fixtures. Plus, they hold so many kitchen staples behind closed doors that work zones stay clean and tidy. You can check them out at our booth, but give yourself a sneak peek below. (All four organizers are shown in Polished Chrome.)

Homeowners are asking for increased functionality and this Pullout Basket and Pilaster System delivers. It’s customizable, too. You decide whether 20- or 26-inch-wide wire baskets work best for the project. And with the optional pilaster system you can stack multiple 6-inch-high baskets in the configuration that satisfies the design goal. The new Pullout Basket and Pilaster System will be available mid-March.

2. Seamless LED Lighting Design

We get it. You work with busy couples and homeowners who have active families. Chances are that’s why you’re designing modern interiors for them—because simple, clean designs suit busy lifestyles so much better than the more ornate designs of yesteryear (according to the NKBA). What that means is that seamless lighting design will be a big deal in 2019, according to medium.com’s analysis of LED lighting trends.

This makes it easy to see why we’re so proud to welcome our latest brand—Task Lighting—and its LED lighting products to our family. Task Lighting Strip Lights, Lighted Power Strip, and Tape Lighting are perfect for illuminating beautiful cabinetry without calling attention to the light source. They’re ideal for almost anywhere you need lighting in the kitchen—above work zones, inside and on top of cabinets, under island countertops, and in the toe kick or ceiling cove—anywhere bright lighting is needed for tasks or subtle, dimmable light is desired to enhance a space.

We hope you’ll check them out for yourself with a visit to our booth at KBIS next week, where a team of product specialists will be on hand to answer LED lighting questions and point out key products on display, including the standouts shown below.

3. Mixed Metals and Finishes

One of 2019’s biggest kitchen trends is the mixing of metals and finishes in the same room, says purewow.com. So say good-bye to kitchens where stainless-steel appliances set the tone for plumbing fixtures and decorative hardware, and say hello to eclecticism.

When mixing your metals, you’ll want to look for styles that not only suit your or your clients’ tastes from a finish standpoint, but add a little verve too. Our latest collections from Jeffrey Alexander offer streamlined yet distinctive shapes in tune with today’s modern aesthetic. It’s also worth noting that Matte Black’s popularity will not be waning anytime soon. In fact, it’s projected to come on even stronger in 2019, according to Elle Decor.

Whether you’ll be attending KBIS or not, you’ll want to check out the recent additions to Jeffrey Alexander and Elements collections below. They’re trend-forward yet lend an enduring look.
