KBIS 2026 Trend Spotting: Color, Texture, and Just a Little Drama

The 2026 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) was recently held in Orlando, Florida, for the first time since 2022. Beyond giving industry professionals a chance to escape the cold, KBIS is an opportunity to check out the latest design trends and products from across the industry. We had no problem getting our 10,000 steps in while walking the show floor to find the most exciting trends that will be filling your social media feeds and your clients’ dreams throughout the year!

FEEL WITH YOUR EYES

JennAir showcased textured materials and surfaces that invite designers to “feel with their eyes.”

The design world is embracing tactile luxury. Texture was everywhere—from backsplashes and countertops to faux leather appliance panels and decorative hardware. Texture not only provides visual interest, but it highlights the beauty of natural materials like wood and stone. Beautiful natural stone and a celebration of wood grain were seen throughout the show and provided a welcome turn away from stark minimalism.

COLOR COMBO REVIVAL

Everywhere you looked, color was the star of the show at KBIS 2026. Designers continue to be inspired by nature while also reaching back to modernize old favorites. Remember the ubiquitous cranberry and hunter green combo of the 1990s? Well, it has been upgraded to a modern mauve and multiple green hues that complement stone tile, mixed metals, and wood finishes beautifully.

NorthPoint Cabinetry introduced new accent colors like Sage Green to create statement kitchen islands.

As part of this popular trend, NorthPoint Cabinetry introduced two new accent colors, Sage Green and Nautical Blue. Available on select Catalina base cabinets, these new finishes allow designers to turn the kitchen island into a focal point. They pair beautifully with NorthPoint’s natural Sandstone finish, new Shell White finish, and other neutral finishes to add depth and visual interest to any kitchen design.

Even everyday appliances got a colorful makeover at KBIS 2026.

Color was also found in really unexpected places at KBIS. Karran, a manufacturer of kitchen sinks and faucets, introduced a new line of colorful models with LED sensors and smart auto-shutoff protection to prevent overheating or heavy-duty jams. The colorful display of garbage disposals made these workhorses look like show horses.

ENDURING NATURE

The embrace of nature remains a strong trend that designers continue to integrate into projects. Dramatic displays of greenery and floral installations were not only eye-catching but also provided a welcome respite from the hard edges of the trade show floor. Several booths incorporated indoor/outdoor design elements and photo-op spaces with colorful floral designs. The message was clear: modern design should incorporate nature and create a sense of well-being for people living in built spaces.
